The Painting Process
The Painting Process In Trisha Keefe's Glorieta studio, every work begins with looking — slowly, patiently, until the hidden reveals itself. Her encaustic process layers molten pigmented wax over photographic imagery, building surfaces that accumulate depth the way a landscape accumulates seasons. Found objects — a fragment of rusted metal, shards of broken glass, ( which she calls ‘wild-caught’ glass), are incorporated not just for their beauty but as carriers of history, their wear and patina part of the visual story. Built into the layers, each piece is imbedded with words of beauty and magic meant to hold a frequency that can be healing to look at.
